Lodge in Drake Bay, Puntarenas

One of our favorite places we stayed at while in Costa Rica. Especially if you are seeking to be away from everything. Guillermo and his family are gracious, kind, and incredible hosts. The food they prepared was fresh and delicious with a beautiful serene view of the beautiful property. The cabins are clean and perfect for sleeping in close proximity to the jungle. Guillermo was helpful with everything we needed—from tours to recommendations. This is the place we will send many friends to experience!

I spent a short weekend at Sunset Tucano lodge after a week long work trip elsewhere in Costa Rica. It was exactly what I needed! Guillermo has created a beautiful and tranquil retreat with thoughtful hospitality - prompt communication pre-trip, well prepared & fresh food and clean, large yet cozy cabins. He is a kind, wise soul who has put his heart into being an excellent host, along with his family and friends. It’s off the beaten path and so much better than a sterile hotel or resort - it’s as if you’re staying with friends! It was such a pleasure that I felt inspired to write my first review on Google Maps :)

This review has almost been a year in the making! My husband and I had the most wonderful time in Sunset Tucano Lodge last Christmas while honeymooning in Costa Rica. We only got to spend one night at the lodge but that is all it took to create the most beautiful memories. The peace, calm and tranquility of the surroundings are wonderful. You feel one with nature. The people who run the lodge are incredibly kind and thoughtful. Their warm energy and spirit is palpable; you can only feel but uplifted while in their company! I'm very thankful for our special experience, the peaceful atmosphere and gorgeous decorations provided for our stay. Thank you!
